Did you know that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the #1 predictor
of professional success and personal excellence?
My interest in EQ started after reading a review of the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 in the Fall of 2014. So I bought the book and read it right around Thanksgiving of that year.
In the back of the book was a code that would allow me to take the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal and get the scores and feedback I could use to improve my EQ. But I didn’t take the test. Just from the reading, I knew I needed to make some changes. And the thought of taking the test and getting a score that would show me where I needed to improve – just wasn’t something I was willing to do.
So I put the book on my bookshelf and forgot all about it.
Then as luck would have it, this Summer I was asked to speak on the topic of Emotional Intelligence at ILTACON 2016. I’ve uploaded the audio of my “Developing & Managing Emotional Intelligence” session to my website.
While preparing for the session, I thought it would make sense to take the dang test. But I was still hesitant. So I didn’t.
But during the session, I did something crazy!
I promised the participants that I would not only take the test, but share my results publicly.
And that is exactly what I’m doing. I put together a short, introductory course to Emotional Intelligence and in the course I reveal my EQ scores.
And there’s more, I’ve actually started implementing some of the strategies from my report to make my EQ better. I’ve already noticed a difference in how I am responding to the important people in my life. The changes I am making are having a positive impact on my relationships. Who knew!
So here’s my challenge for you. Take my free Introduction to Emotional Intelligence course. Get the book, take the test, and start making the changes that will guarantee you greater professional success and personal excellence.
